Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Who played piano on the studio LP Wharf Rat?

The Warner Brothers double album, Skull Fuck?

On the heels of Blonde on Blonde, The White Album, Cream Wheels on Fire, Electric Ladyland, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Live Dead, All Things Must Pass, and of course, Layla.

Recently read a post claiming that Mickey Hart was responsible for Garcia's dabbling in opiates. Another post begging a comparison of the difference between 60's and 70's performances?

Who are the two keyboardist on the track "Wharf Rat" from the Warner Brothers Album Grateful Dead - Grateful Dead released in 1971 and passionately reffered to as Skull Fuck, or Skull and Roses?

One organist and one pianist? Who are the two players?

According to the lp (yes!) notes it's Merl Saunders on organ. Overdubbed (McNally). No mention of piano. I'll play it now and listen if there's a piano in there.

Sounds like a piano plonking away. Overdub by Merl? Howard Wales? Ned Lagin? Jerry Garcia?
